Leashed mobs can be vulnerable in ways many players don’t expect. If a mob is pulled underwater — by a boat, a player, another mob, or currents — it can drown while still tethered. Mobs that are untied naturally float to the surface, but leashed mobs remain at risk.

*Safe Leash* is a lightweight NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.6+ that makes leash behavior safer and more predictable.

✨ What it does

- When a leashed mob takes drowning damage: - The leash is dropped as an item, freeing the mob - The mob receives *Water Breathing* for 10 seconds to safely resurface

This can be understood as the mob panicking, breaking free, and instinctively holding its breath long enough to reach the surface.
