Based on the world seed chosen are: biomes that will generate (ussualy a few biomes), the ruggedness of the world and height( tho it can still vary). The seed does not determine the temperature of the biomes and the amount of vegetation(plains/forest)

Many variables of worldgen are now tied to the seed. It removes diversity and makes deafult world type into biomes with similar values world type.
