Longer Days
Longer Days increases the length of a Minecraft day by pausing the day cycle for 10 minutes at noon.
Longer Days
Longer Days is a lightweight and simple datapack designed to extend the length of a Minecraft day without changing the overall feel of vanilla gameplay. Instead of speeding up or slowing down the entire day–night cycle, this datapack selectively pauses time at a key point in the day to create a smoother, more natural sense of extended daylight.
The day–night cycle is paused once at noon for 10 minutes, giving players a generous stretch of uninterrupted daylight to explore, build, farm, or adventure before the sun begins to set. By focusing the pause at midday, Longer Days preserves the familiar rhythm of sunrise and sunset while still providing meaningful extra time when visibility and productivity are at their peak. Whether you’re working on large builds, playing casually with friends, or running a survival world where daylight feels a little too short, this datapack offers a subtle but impactful improvement to pacing.
The datapack is fully compatible with vanilla Minecraft, requires no mods, and works seamlessly in both single-player worlds and multiplayer servers. Installation is as simple as dropping it into your world’s datapacks folder. If you’ve ever wished the sun would hang overhead just a bit longer, Longer Days delivers that balance without disrupting gameplay.
Note: If you are installing this on a server for the first time, you may need to run the /reload command once to activate the datapack. After that initial load, it will function normally.
