# Hello! This is **Astral Pines**

Edit: Guys, I did not give up on the modpack, the next version is just taking a little too long to be finished…

A modpack I originally started making to play with some friends, but I ended up getting really into it and refining it even more…

It features a bunch of really awesome mods!!! Like _Create_ and several of its addons, so you can build all kinds of crazy factories for anything you can imagine.

There’s also _Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks_ and _T.O. Tweaks_ , letting you cast spells like crazy and feel like one of those mages straight out of a Souls-like game!!!

On top of that, I’ve added a bunch of _structure_ and _terrain generation mods_, which make exploration super exciting and help balance the overall experience. You’ll grab some amazing loot from structures and feel totally overpowered, until you meet your first unique creature and get wiped out in 10 seconds haha.

And there are tons of epic bosses too, thanks to _Mowzie’s Mobs_ , _Alex Mobs_ and _Ender’s Cataclysm._

I’m also planning to add a custom mod made specifically for Astral Pines when the official release comes! I feel like my goal for this project can’t quite be reached using only pre-existing mods… (though I absolutely love all the mods already included, I just think my vision goes a little beyond what’s currently available.)

Important: The modpack is still a work in progress… So I’ll be frequently changing things, tweaking configs, adding or removing mods , all to make sure Astral Pines delivers the best experience possible.

🟡**Power of Aster** – Your entire existence is related to Aster. Aster will charge over time when you are able to see the sky – because that’s where the Aster comes from. Recharge will be more efficient at night when you can take the power from invididual stars in the sky. If your Aster level is too low, you won’t be able to run and you’ll feel weak.

🟡**Aster Diet** – Your race is incapable of feeling hunger, instead all kinds of fatigue takes its toll on your Aster. However, you can absorb the energy of some special items to recover some of your Aster. Just keep in mind, that you need a moment after taking damage to be able to consume these.

🟢**Aster Glow** – Spread some Aster around you, to coat everyone near in Aster Glow for 10 seconds. Your attacks against targets covered in glow will be more effective.

🟢**Aster Vision** – You can improve your vision in the dark by gradually emitting small portions of Aster and focusing on your eyes.

🟢**Star Eater** – As a Celestial being, you see Stars as the most precious resource. And it’s just so happened that in this world there are Stars that you can put in your pocket. 🟡**Low Gravity** – Your body is not accustomed to gravity of these lands, which means you are jumping higher and slowly falling to the ground. You can sneak in air to pull yourself towards the ground – but watch out, since doing so can hurt you.

### Ruins and Structures
**Ruins** are structures that are randomly generated within your world that all have a chance of spawning with **Runes**.
There are 16 different types of Runes that all have various effects that can be given to the player.

There are currently 6 types of Ruins that can generate:

__Pyramid__: Pyramids are large structures that have started to decay over the years. Most have many levels but can be very rewarding.

__Fountains__: Fountains can be large structures that generate in the water. They can contain spawners and rare loot.

__Snowballs__: Snowballs are massive snow and ice structures. They closely resemble massive snowmen.

__Water Domes__: Water Domes are structures found on the bottom of the ocean that can contain Runes as well as some rare ones are made of uncommon materials.

__Spires__: Spires are natural structures that reach towards the sky. These can contain runes as well as very rarely be ‘death spires’.

__Decayed Ruins__: Ruins are remnants of a past civilization. Ruins have decayed greatly over the years but can still contain treasures of old.
