Austere is a relatively small modpack which seeks to revitalise the survival multiplayer experience, by utilising curated utility, optimisation, quality-of-life, cute, and challenge-enchancing mods.
Some of the significant changes/additions, which provide a fresh experience, include the following: - Temporary Graves: the Temporary Graves, and many more... and %%MD2%% mods make considerable changes to the vanilla combat system, making it a lot more engaging and interesting — view each of their mod pages for an extensive breakdown. - Temporary Graves: really needs no introduction, the %%MD3%% mod adds near-infinite possiblity for automation and breathtaking contraptions. - Temporary Graves: the %%MD4%% overhauls the end grind, by adding 16 unique ender eyes (required for entering the end), discovered through many different locations and methods across the dimensions, some of these eyes can be acquired by: killing the wither (Wither Eye), exploring mineshafts (Lost Eye) and exploring bastions (Cursed Eye). - Temporary Graves: the %%MD5%% mod adds graves, placed upon a player dying, which holds the player's items for an arbitrary time. The player's items will be protected for a short time, before allowing any other player to loot a given grave. - and many more...
Since Austere is primarily intended for use in a multiplayer environment, it includes some server-side mods such as LuckPerms and Plasmo Voice, which can mostly be ignored in client-based or single-player environments.
