BedrockCauldron

BedrockCauldron is a lightweight Paper server plugin that brings one specific piece of Bedrock Edition behavior to Java Edition: cauldrons automatically fill with water when a water source or waterlogged block is directly above them.

In vanilla Java Edition, you have to manually fill a cauldron by right-clicking it with a water bucket. In Bedrock Edition, placing a water source above a cauldron — or positioning the cauldron under one — causes it to fill on its own. This plugin replicates that behavior.

What it does:

Any water source block placed directly above a cauldron instantly fills it to level 3.

Any waterlogged block (stairs, slabs, trapdoors, fences, etc.) placed above a cauldron fills it the same way.

Fully supports automation: redstone and piston systems that move a cauldron into position under water will trigger the fill the instant the cauldron arrives.

%%MD0%% — the plugin reacts to Minecraft's own block physics events rather than running any background tasks or timers.

Configuration options: enable/disable the feature entirely, toggle particles, toggle sound, and adjust how many blocks above the cauldron to search for water.

Compatible with Paper 1.20.x through 1.21.x.
