Better Nameprotect
NameProtect
NameProtect is a client-side Minecraft mod that changes your displayed name. It's useful for avoiding stream sniping, protecting your identity, or hiding alt accounts.
Features
- Replaces your in-game name locally - Prevents accidental leaks during recording or streaming - Lightweight and easy to configure - Supports multiple protection modes
Commands
All commands are client-side and do not require server support.
New Commands
- `/nameprotect mode <off|everyone|self>` Sets the protection mode: - `off` – disables name protection - `everyone` – replaces your name for all players including yourself - `self` – replaces only your own view of your name
- `/nameprotect change <new name>` Changes your name to the specified value.
Legacy Commands (deprecated)
- `/nameprotect toggle <on|off>` Enables or disables name protection manually.
- `/nameprotect change <name>` Old version of the change command.

Note: This mod only affects what *you* see client-side. Other players will still see your real username unless you use alt accounts or spoofers.
