About Mod

Code44 is a psychological horror mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 that turns a normal survival world into a slowly escalating anomalous experience. It is designed for both singleplayer and multiplayer.

What the mod adds

- Timed horror events that progress over in-game days - Custom entities and false sightings - Environmental anomalies, strange sounds, and misleading encounters - Distorted structures and scripted scenes - Special dimensions and trap-like transitions - Fake chat / presence moments that make the world feel watched - Survival disruption through tension, paranoia, and unpredictable encounters

How it works

The mod progresses quickly. Different events unlock over time and begin to interfere with normal gameplay. Many events happen during the day, while some occur at night or under specific conditions such as caves, darkness, sleep deprivation, or exploration.

Inspiration

The mod was partially inspired by The Broken Script, and it contains a direct Easter egg referencing it.

Recommended settings

For the intended atmosphere, keep the included resource packs enabled and use shaders with darker lighting and heavier fog.
