Echoes of Adventure: Compass has evolved from a simple directional overlay into a comprehensive navigation suite. Designed to enhance your exploration without breaking immersion, it provides a flexible waypoint system that keeps you oriented across every dimension.

While primarily a client-side mod, installing it on a server unlocks advanced features like global markers and team tracking for a coordinated multiplayer experience.

📍 Versatile Waypoint System

Never lose your way again with multiple waypoint types: - Team Icons (Server-side): Create personal markers for your base, mines, or points of interest. - Team Icons (Server-side): Automatically marks the spot where you last died. - Team Icons (Server-side): Your respawn point is automatically tracked and displayed. - Team Icons (Server-side): Server operators can set markers visible to every player. - Team Icons (Server-side): Keep track of your allies by rendering vanilla team player icons directly on the compass.

⚙️ Configuration

The mod provides three config categories: Client, Common and Server.

Client Config (Visual & UI)

Death Waypoints

- autoDeleteDeathWaypoints: Automatically removes death waypoints when you get close. - deathMarkerClearRadius: Distance (in blocks) required to remove a death waypoint.

Waypoint Rendering

- iconSizeNear / iconSizeFar: Icon scale when near or far from a waypoint. - hideWaypointsRadius: Hides nearby waypoints to reduce visual clutter. - toggleShowWaypointsInCompass: Allows toggling waypoint visibility in the compass. - toggleShowWaypointsInWorld: Enables waypoint rendering in the world. - showTextWaypointsInCompass / InWorld: Shows waypoint labels. - renderWaypointsAboveCompass: Renders icons above compass UI elements.

Rendering Behavior

- renderThroughBlocks: Allows waypoints to be visible through blocks. - increaseSizeOnDistance: Makes icons larger when far away. - maxScaleFar: Maximum scale when far. - fixSizeOnDistance: Disables scaling based on distance.

Common Config (Gameplay Logic)

General

- enableWaypoints: Enables personal waypoints. - maxRenderDistanceCustomWaypoints: Max distance for rendering personal waypoints.

Item Requirement

- requiredItem: Requires an item to display compass overlay. [Compat Curios] - requiredItemId: Item ID required (default: minecraft:compass).

Death Waypoints

- enableDeathWaypoints: Creates waypoint on player death. - multiplyDeathMarkers: Allows multiple death markers. - maxRenderDistanceDeathWaypoints: Max render distance for death waypoints.

Bed Waypoint

- enableBedWaypoint: Adds waypoint at respawn bed. - maxRenderDistanceBedWaypoint: Max render distance for bed waypoint.

Blacklists

- blacklistDimension: Disables compass in specific dimensions. - blacklistCustomWaypoints: Disables personal waypoints per dimension. - blacklistDeathWaypoints: Disables death waypoints per dimension.

Server Config (Multiplayer Features)

Global Waypoints

- enableGlobalWaypoints: Enables waypoints visible to all players (OP-only management). - maxRenderDistanceGlobalWaypoints: Max render distance for global waypoints.

Team Features

- enableTeamIcons: Shows team members on compass. - maxRenderDistanceTeamIcon: Max render distance for team icons.

Blacklists

- blacklistGlobalWaypoints: Disables global waypoints in specific dimensions. - blacklistTeamIcons: Disables team icons in specific dimensions.
